Welcome

Dear Masters Parents,

Are you ready to begin another school year?  I am looking forward to having your daughter’s as we begin this new journey together at the Metairie Classical Conversations campus.

I am Michelle Lovelace, your daughters CC Foundations Masters class tutor. I haven’t been homeschooling long. My daughter had been asking me for several years to home school. I felt the time was right last year for her 5th grade year. She had stayed home for pre-K, but went to private school for several years in between.  I was introduced to CC by another parent tutor and knew when the time came that I would enroll Meghan in the program.  I thoroughly enjoyed being a tutor, and counted it a privilege, last year and look forward to discovering the next 24 weeks with you and your daughters.

As part of the Foundations experience, the children are able to make weekly presentations to the class.  This gives everyone the opportunity to speak in front of a group and become an active listener too.  The audience will learn to respond positively to the speaker, and I will also give each speaker an assessment, so that they can continue to grow during the year.  We will go over the guidelines together on the first day and there will be a schedule provided of the topics/type of presentation for each week. The students will present every other week in class sometimes, so that this does not become a burden at home every week.  I believe this will become a highlight of the class for the girls.  If your daughter is presently not strong in this area, please don’t fret.  I will help each of them along and make it a good experience for all.

I look forward to meeting everyone the first day of class on August 16th at 9:15. Enjoy the rest of your summer – I know we will!

Sincerely,
Michelle Lovelace
