Week 7

Hi Everyone,  Hope you are having a good week. 

This coming weeks presentation is an humorous interpretation. Delight us with a funny story or poem.  Memorize it if you want or have time. If not please be so familiar that you can enhance it with gestures or actions.  Choose your content carefully to delight, not offend your audience. Making fun of anyone is offensive.

Heads up for week 8.  Be prepared to Demonstrate how to do something, make something, fix something, or use something.  Use visual aids such as models, drawings, or actual items.  Allow your audience to participate if possible. This is a 2 week presentation.  I'll be asking for who wants to do theirs the 8th week or the 9th week.

Week 4

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good rest of the week. As I look over some of the speeches I know that they are long. What I think will be fine is if you take part of the speech and memorize it.. For example, Meghan is doing Reagan's Inaugural Speech, she is only doing the first four and half paragraphs. It needs to be enough to last no less than 1 minute and no more than 3 minutes and it needs to stop at a place that doesn't leave the listener hanging. I hope this helps.  Remember next week the 20th you will share a short biography on your patriot. It is on the 27th that you bring your speech to class and say it from memory.  Enjoy your week off and if you went to Williamsburg I hope you had a wonderful trip.

Week 5

Hi,  Hope you all have had a good week...  Tuesday went great, everyone did well on their Biography presentation.  I'm looking forward to the speeches. Don't forget they need to be memorized.  Please bring them to class so I can give any prompts if needed.

In getting ready for week 7 I wanted to ask you to go a head and bring your Tin Whistles to class this week so I can see that everyone has theirs.  Also we'll be coloring in Science the next several weeks so if anyone has an extra Crayola 64 color set please bring them so we have plenty of crayons to go around.  We will be using specific colors. Thanks so much!

Week 4

Hope you all had a great week.  I am aware that the speeches for the week of September 27th could be long.  What Meghan is doing is taking an excerpt from a speech.  Make sure it is several paragraphs so it will be more than a minute but less than three minutes. Also make sure it is a natural ending to the topic. Don't leave your audience hanging. Be ready to present your short biography on the 20th and bring your speech to class on the 27th.  Have it memorized, I don't want anyone reading their paper. I will give a few prompts if needed. Also be studying the past 4 weeks info. I will get out eggspurt for review the next time we get together. Enjoy your week off!  See you next Tuesday!

Week 4

Hope everyone is having a good week.  I realized last night that I didn't give the Presentation assignment. It is Memorize and recite a bible passage and tell why it is meaningful.  I would like it to be several verses, you should take at least a minute or two if possible.

Presentation:  Family Vacation is our topic for next week.  Students may bring in a picture, souvenir, or something they made while on vacation.

Week One

I hope you all enjoyed week one as much as I did, I thought it went great! Thank you to the moms who were there today..y'all are a big help.  We had fun writing our own Time Line point story. I'll post it next time, I'm out of town and don't have it with me. Have a great week.
